PQT 15
Monitoring – 2
8:30 am-10:30 am
This session will examine new technologies and methods for measuring power and power quality. Getting usable data is essential to solving power quality issues. A presentation on performing successful power quality studies utilizing newly developed instrumentation and correctly interpreting the results will be given. Demands are being made for permanently installed power quality monitoring equipment with improved energy measurement accuracy. The hardware, software, and system configuration required to attain this goal will be discussed. New, portable, highly accurate instrumentation can be used to determine the direction of the source of harmonics in an electrical system. The construction, calibration, and practical in-field use of such equipment will be explored.
