PQT 01
TVSS/Surge Suppression/Conditioning - 1
1:30 pm-3:30 pm

More than 75% of the utility power today is reprocessed by electronic subsystems and very delicate integrated circuits are powered by low voltage DC extracted from the utility AC. This scenario has made the surge protection and power conditioning extremely important for the reliability and quality of operation of complex mission critical electronic systems as well as our day to day electrical systems. This session has three speakers presenting the latest technology/practices available for the surge protection including some new TVSS technologies and the protection of overhead power lines against lightning etc.

Chair: Dr. Nihal Kularatna
The University of Waikato
