• We highly recommend all ads be submitted as high resolution PDFs with 300 DPI resolution for all photos.
• All images must start out in a CMYK color format and then processed with Adobe distiller keeping the Color images in a CMYK format.
• Please embed all fonts.
• Please Include (9 points) bleed on all edges with crop marks.

PDF's
Please test your PDF's before sending. To test, use a layout program like Quark Xpress. Import your PDF into a picture box and print separations. So to not waste time & material, you only need to test (1) ONE of the following channels. If you have lots of blue or green, choose the Cyan Channel. If you have lots of red or purple, choose the Magenta Channel. If you have lots of Yellow or orange choose the Yellow Channel.
If you have a picture that is comprised of 100% Magenta and 100% Yellow, you should test the magenta channel. You will get 100% black (solid coverage) where your color was. If so, your PDF is correct. If you have no image at all on any of the cyan, magenta or yellow plates, your PDF is incorrect.
Remember that more than one picture may be used in a layout and when you test separate, you should have an image where each picture was used. Testing one of the channels will only take about 2 minutes and remember, DO NOT TEST THE BLACK CHANNEL.
Electronic Files - Must be Mac-compatible:

• Submit files on CD-ROM Only.
• Include (9 points) bleed on all edges with crop marks.
• Files must be QuarkXPress, please use "File/Collector Output" to gather elements of your ad.
• Files also accepted as Adobe Illustrator Version 5-10 or Adobe PhotoShop
• All images must be saved as a .tiff or .eps format.
• All images must be provided at 300 dpi resolution for photos and halftones / 600 ppi or more resolution for line-art scans, at their printed size.
• All images must be in CMYK color format (not RGB).
• Include all fonts, images and graphics to correctly output the ad and use only PostScript type 1 fonts.
• A color proof of your file is required.
• Please label your materials clearly.
• Do not include word spaces in file names. Use dashes or underscores to separate words
