The concern about the quality of electrical power was focused on the data processing industry for more than 20 years.  The growth of the power quality industry accelerated rapidly in the late 1900’s and collapsed with the bust of the dot com industry in 2000.  Today, this industry has emerged into a much healthier business and is poised for even greater success with broader applications.

This presentation will provide a glimpse of the major activities that are focused on improving power quality and reliability at both the utility and power use levels.  More reliable power is a key to success in a changing world economy.

The intent is to make attendees aware of major activities by utilities to improve overall power quality and reliability plus show examples of large-scale solutions by major industrial users.
